Wild bushfires in California over the last few days. It's so bad over there that you can't even see the sky through the smoke!
I think this is just Natures way of keeping everything in balance. As you probably know, California banned cigarette smoking in public places a few years ago, with the reduction of smoke in the air, it's obvious that something had to burn to keep the equlibrium.
